On my last cross country house concert tour I stopped at a motel in Claude, Texas. In search of a hot meal, I ended up at a church fundraiser with ten or so folks who all new each other. They wondered at the stranger who wandered in, but they fed me for the price of a wristband. In the bathroom there was a sign that read "Don't forget to wash your hands and say your prayers because Jesus and germs are everywhere". I started writing this song in the motel that night.
